A photo a day by Alex Moorehead, all the way through the year 2011 All photos in the project will be taken and processed using an iphone.
Day 120
For todays shot, I had a few ideas, with this being one, and the other ones are images that can also be shot further on in the year whereas this might not, it was inspired slightly by a quote from the street photography now project a few months back which says "get lost in a thicket of structures and signs." so when I saw these road works perched up against a wall, I decided that this is the photo I would use that I have taken today. It was processed in the shakeitphoto app.
Day 119
This is an iphone photo that was taken of the television while watching the Royal Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton. I took the photo as they kissed on the balcony of Buckingham Palace and then processed the photo to give it this drawing look in the Toonpaint app.
Day 118
Taken on yet another fine April day on the beach at Seaton, the sky was clear, the sea was calm, so I decided to shoot the beach, sea and sky using the pro hdr app to create this photo with a simple yet effective composition.
Day 117
Taken from the disused Seaton heights hotel complex, looking down on Seaton and the sea beyond. I was here anyway to take some photos from above looking down on the regeneration area and the dredger Oranje, in the sea to the right, which was supplying infill to the regeneration area. This photo was taken using the Pro HDR app.
Day 116
Today, I went to Blackberry Camp in Devon, a roman fort covered in bluebells surrounded by tall trees. This photo was taken using the Pro HDR app and then processed using the Shakeitphoto app.
Day 115
This is a building that I have been meaning to take a photo of on the iphone for a while now. I took it using the Vint B&W app and then processed it using the 'Helga' filter in the Camerabag app.
Day 114
This photo was taken in a very quiet car park on Easter Sunday, I used the Pro HDR app to take the photo and then the color blast app to use the selective colors for the red sign and the brickwork in the background.
Day 113
Today I was out for most of the day, so this photo was taken with the basic camera function on the iphone 3gs as I was sitting in the passenger seat of the car on a motorway at nighttime.
Day 112
This photo was taken using the camera bag app outside a building in Seaton. It was decorated with union jacks etc, getting ready for the royal wedding on Friday 29th april, 1 week away.
Day 111
Today, I was given access to the regeneration site in Seaton, Devon, to take some photographs. As it is a very busy site, I had to wear a hard hat, high visibility vest and a lifejacket due to the pools around the site that I could fall in. This was a self portrait taken as I was looking at a very bright part of the site, and then processed in the Lo-Mob app.
Day 110
This photo was put together in Autostitch app, using two photos that I had taken in the Hipstamatic app. It is of the view towards the eastern side of the regeneration area in Seaton, Devon, which I am documenting as part of one of my projects that have continued beyond University.
Day 109
Taken on a very nice april afternoon, as I went for a walk to Beer Head, close to where I live, after avoiding the sun and heat for the rest of the day. Mind you, it was still very hot when I went up there. This photo was taken of the track leading to the barn on the cliff top and then processed in the Pic Grunger app.
Day 108
Taken using the pro hdr and then the shakeitphoto app, this photo is off the old youth centre in Seaton, Devon, which is currently looking very sorry for itself. Any day now though, it will be demolished to make way for a pedestrian entrance to a new Tesco supermarket that is being built in the town, ready in November 2011.
Day 107
Today I got up early to watch the F1 Chinese grand prix on tv, a race which was full of excitement (often rare in the dry!) and won by Lewis Hamilton in his Mclaren by overtaking Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel a handful of laps from the end. One it had finished, I had put on my Mclaren Rocket Red top which you can see in the photo. This one being a special one which celebrated Lewis' First world championship in 2008. The photo was then processed in the shakeitphoto app.
Day 106
This photo was taken of a rusting metal gate behind some garages in Seaton, Devon, I had photographed it before, but the light wasn't quite right. This was shot on the iphone 3gs using the pro HDR app and then further processed in the Plastic Bullet app.
Day 105
I had some chocolate left in the cupboard and was feeling hungry, so I had to eat the last few chunks of it! however before that, I took some photos of it using the iphone camera. With the final result being this after trips through the tilt shift generator and Phoster apps.
Day 104
Todays Iphone photo shows me taking a video with my compact camera of the regeneration site in Seaton, Devon. I then processed the image in the Pic Grunger app
Day 103
Taken while walking along a quiet road surrounded by overhanging trees that look as though they could snap at any minute. It was taken using the Vint B&W app and then processed in the Camerabag app.
Day 102
This photo was taken using the Plastic Bullet app as I was posting a letter off in a postbox, with a filter chosen within the app that has just the right color balance so no part is too dark or light.
Day 101
The 101st photo of the project was taken inside the regeneration site in Seaton, Devon. As I went in there to check out the temporary viewing platform they had opened up for the month for the public to see. This view in the photo is next to the fence alongside harbour road, where the restaurant and reception would have been on my right where the cars etc are, if the holiday camp was still there.
Day 100
Hooray, I have reached the first big milestone of the project, the 100th day of 2011 and I am still going strong, when I would have sworn that I would have quit by this time, when thinking about it on the 1st of January.
Anyway, this photo was taken on a country lane at dusk using the Pro HDR app to get detail in both the lane in the shade and the color in the sky. I then finished the photo of in the Shakeitphoto app, to give it the polaroid effect.
Day 99
Taken using the 360 pano app, this planet type photo was taken in Seaton, Devon, with the perimeter fence of the regeneration site on the left hand side and the buildings directly opposite it on the right hand side, with the road running through the middle.
Day 98
Taken of a pigeon sitting on the wall of a multi storey car park looking down on asbestos workers and their van. Taken using the hipstamatic app and then processed in the photoshop express app.
Day 97
This photo was taken in the living room looking out of the window, with a crystal type hanging thing from the window frame distorting the view. I also like how the whole image is slightly out of focus for some reason, adding to the whole feel of a distorted vision created initially by the glass object.
Day 96
This photo was taken in some fields in between Beer and Branscombe in Devon, at sunset. It was taken using the pro hdr app and then finished in the idarkroom app.
Day 95
Today I have been feeling rough, so have been stuck inside all day uploading some photos to my laptop from my cameras. This is just a quick iphone snap of my laptop keyboard which has been processed using the 'helga' filter in the camerabag app.
Day 94
Taken of a mannequin in a shop window staring at a white van man on the road opposite. As to who would dress like this in April is something that is beyond me, with the madness only added to with the union jack flags in the background. The photo was processed in the instagram app.
Day 93
A photo I took outside my house when about 5 bikes drove past, with this being one that I captured with the iphone. I then messed around with it in the free touch effect lite app to give it a panning effect, but due to it being a free version, the saved image is quite low resolution. I then finished the photo off in the shakeitphoto app.
Day 92
This photo was taken on a cliff top where there were sheep grazing on it. Again I used the tiny planets app, but used the tube function, that basically turns everything inside out, so that the sky is in the middle and the ground and sheep are on the outside of the photo.
Day 91 (1/4/11)
This is a Tesco planet photo that I made using the Tiny Planets app which makes planet shaped images by wrapping 1 single photo round a central point, which works better with some things (generally more simple compositions) than others.
